Supreme Court Justices to Visit Moncton for 150th Anniversary

As a part of the Supreme Court of Canada's 150th-anniversary celebrations, Chief Justice Richard Wagner, at the side of Justices Suzanne Côté and Sheilah L. Martin, will go to Moncton, New Brunswick, on March 10-eleven.
This go-to aims to bolster public awareness of the Court's position in Canadian democracy while providing direct engagement opportunities with students, felony professionals, and the general public.
"One of my priorities as Chief Justice has been to convey the Supreme Court of Canada in the direction of the humans we serve because knowledge of the justice machine strengthens public self-belief in it," Chief Justice Wagner said in an information release. "As we commemorate the Court's one hundred and fiftieth anniversary in 2025, my colleagues and I are eager to engage with the human beings of Moncton and foster a greater appreciation of the Court's function in Canadian society."
Organized via Local Judiciary and Legal Experts
A local committee, led by Chief Justice J.C. Marc Richard and working with judiciary participants, legal specialists, and educational institutions, is organizing the visit.

"Their go-to offers a unique opportunity for New Brunswickers to engage at once with the u. S . A . 's highest Court and gain deeper insight into the judiciary's role in upholding justice, fairness, and the rule of law."
Public and Educational Engagements
The -day visit will include numerous public and educational occasions:
March 10: The justices will meet with students and college at the Université de Moncton Faculty of Law, with participation from college students at the University of New Brunswick's Faculty of Law. They will also visit Moncton City Hall.
March eleven: The justices will interact with local secondary school students, answering their questions about Canada's justice gadget. Later in the afternoon, they will participate in a public discussion board, "Beyond the Bench: A Dialogue with Judges of the Supreme Court of Canada," at the Capitol Theatre in Moncton. This free event invites public participation, allowing attendees to post questions in advance. Additionally, the justices will discuss with individuals from the nearby legal network.
